Turntable mats

A turntable mat is an important hi-fi component that significantly influences sound quality. Thus particular attention should be paid to the selection in order to make the perfect choice.

Pliant or soft turntable mats dampen vibrations, but they also slightly soften the impulse precision. With hard or rigid mats, apart from the material used, the evenness of the contact area is of particular importance. Furthermore the discharge capacity for static charges is an important decision-making factor.

Turntable mat no. 2 -conical-
Objectives:
  • enhancing of impulse precision and tonal depth & scale
  • prevention of sonic interference caused by record vibrations
  • enhancing of planar contact area, even with slightly undulating records
Characteristics:
  • smooth graphite
  • unmitigatedly level, polished surface
  • excellent discharge capacity
  • material used: graphite
  • height: 4.5mm
  • weight: approx. 500g
  • diameter: 295 mm
  • conical design (an adjustment of the azimuth is possible, however, the inclination angle is chosen so that an adjustment of the azimuth is not required)

Tip: A record weight of at least 800g is crucial. We strongly advise the use of
record weight no. 1.
